FAQs
Creating spaces that truly restore goes beyond how they look.
Here we answer the most important questions around designing, building, and delivering high-performance leisure cabins that support comfort, wellbeing, and long-term use.
What is a luxury leisure cabin?
A luxury leisure cabin is a high-quality, self-contained building designed for short stays, typically used by hotels, retreats, and glamping operators. Unlike basic pods, luxury leisure cabins are built for year-round comfort, using high-performance insulation, natural materials, and considered design to create a calm, restorative guest experience.
What makes your cabins different from standard glamping pods?
Most glamping pods are designed for seasonal use and visual appeal. Our cabins are built to a housing-level standard, focusing on thermal performance, air quality, acoustics, and material quality. This results in spaces that feel solid, quiet, and comfortable year-round—delivering a noticeably higher guest experience.
What is included in your design packages?
Our design packages include consultations, allocated design hours, layout development, and support with material and product selection. This ensures your cabin is tailored to your site, audience, and operational goals.
How are your cabins designed for healthier living?
We use low-VOC paints, non-toxic silicones, and carefully selected materials to reduce indoor pollutants. This supports better air quality and a healthier internal environment for guests.
Do your cabins require planning permission in the UK?
In many cases, cabins can be installed under the Caravan Act (Certified Site Licence) for leisure use, depending on size and site conditions. However, planning requirements vary, and we recommend assessing each project individually.
How much do luxury leisure cabins cost in the UK?
Costs vary depending on size, specification, and level of customisation. As a guide, our cabins are positioned at the premium end of the market, reflecting their build quality, materials, and performance. As a range, our cabins start at £65,000 with our largest NordStar starting at £160,000.
Who are NordSeries designed for?
NordSeries cabins are designed for boutique hotels, wellness retreats, landowners, and leisure developers who want to offer high-quality guest accommodation. They are particularly suited to operators who prioritise guest experience, long-term durability, and spaces that support rest and wellbeing.
Can your cabins be used year-round?
Yes. Our cabins are designed for year-round use, with high levels of insulation, underfloor heating, and optional air source heat pumps for larger models. This ensures consistent comfort in both winter and summer conditions.
Can you help with interior design and product sourcing?
Yes. We support clients with interior detailing and sourcing of finishes, fixtures, and furnishings to ensure the final space feels cohesive, high-quality, and aligned with the intended guest experience.
What standard are your cabins built to?
Our cabins are built to a housing-level standard, following passive house principles where possible. This includes high-performance insulation, airtight construction, and a focus on long-term durability and comfort.
Do You Ship Internationally?
Yes, we have many projects where we ship the same designs to different locations across the UK and EU.
Can your cabins be used under the Caravan Act?
Yes. Our cabins are designed to meet the size and height requirements of the Caravan Act, making them suitable for use as leisure accommodation or glamping units where permitted.
How long does installation take?
In ideal conditions, installation can take as little as one day per unit. More complex sites or multiple units may require additional time for preparation and finishing.
Are your cabins suitable for hotels and wellness retreats?
Yes. Our cabins are specifically designed for hospitality environments, including boutique hotels, spa retreats, and nature-based stays. They are built to support longer stays, better sleep, and higher guest satisfaction—key drivers for return bookings and premium positioning
Do you offer bespoke cabin design or fixed models?
We offer both. Our NordSeries models provide a refined starting point, while our design packages allow for bespoke adaptations, including layout changes, finishes, and site-specific considerations.
Can your cabins be adapted to suit different sites?
Yes, for an additional fee. Our cabins can be adapted to suit a range of site conditions, including woodland, rural, and hospitality environments. We consider access, orientation, and surroundings to ensure the design works with the land.
What materials do you use in your builds?
We prioritise natural, durable materials such as real wood, along with carefully selected construction products designed for longevity and performance. Materials are chosen not just for aesthetics, but for how they contribute to comfort and wellbeing.
How do your cabins improve guest comfort and rest??
Our cabins are designed around how the body responds to a space. This includes stable internal temperatures, fresh filtered air, reduced noise, and natural materials. Together, these elements support deeper rest, better sleep, and an overall more comfortable stay.
Do you support with planning applications?
Yes. We can support clients through the planning process via our third party partner HPW or via Woodland Champions, including providing design information and working alongside planning consultants where required.
How far in advance should I book a build slot?
We recommend booking as early as possible, as build slots are limited and often secured well in advance. We are currently taking bookings for September to December 2026.
